Have you heard of:
-
Jay Prime Positive
- I am an Available Freelance Software Engineer and Instructor
specializing in MS Windows, and MS DOS; C, C++, and Java programming.
I would be happy to provide you with Windows 95 consulting services.
My resume lists my qualifications and
past clients. I also have an explanation
for my silly aka.
-
DreamWorks
- My brother Benjamin is a really great cutsom jeweler,
silversmith, goldsmith, and platinumsmith. He would be happy to help
you with any jewelry related design, repair, production, or even
reproduction.
- JOB
- Jay's Own Browser is writen in Java and source code is
available. It is a Java aplication, not an applet, so all you need is
a Java interpreter, not necesarily a Java capable browser.
- Lisp, Scheme, and AI
- Automatically generated HTML versions of the Lisp and Scheme FAQs are accessible by WWW as part of the AI-related
FAQs Mosaic page. The Common Lisp V2.0 manual was available online, now its not. Boo
Hoo.
- Free Software Foundation
- Along with many efforts to keep programming and software free,
the FSF is building a free (GPL) Unix
clone named GNU. GNU
includes all the unix tools: ls, find, grep; cc, debug; etc. There
are multiple kernels which support GNU, including Linux and Hurd. The
official ftp site has a
ton of goodies, and the GNU
Manuals web page is also a good place to start.
-
FreeDos
- The FreeDos project is building a free (GPL) MS DOS clone.
Visit the FreeDOS World HQ Site or the FreeDOS Development Support Site
- GNUish Project
- Your favorite Unix tools (Gnu naturally) running on MS Dos.
- GNU for Win32 (Win 95, Win NT, Win 32s?)
- Cygnus had made a port
of Gnu's C/C++ (under GPL) and provides
it along with a compatibility .dll (not under GPL!). There is a (LGPL)
minimalist runtime library which can replace Cygnus's non-gpl .dll (original in
Japan, mirror site in USA).
-
The Extropians
- The Extropians are
an optomistic, transhuman, futurist, neophillic, online, wild bunch of folks.
-
Cryonics
- Cryonics is the practice of freezing the recently dead in the
hope that future medicine will be able to heal them. I believe that
Alcor is the best organization
offering cryonic suspension. You should check out Cryonics Institute, American
Cryonics Society, and CryoCare before you make
your own decision. The
Prometheus Project is an organization (forming) to research
"fully-reversible, long-term suspended animation for humans."
-
The Cypherpunks
- CypherPunks are commited to exploring the political
implications of cryptography. Lots of old messages from the mailing
list are available at the Cypherpunks Archives.
-
The Libertarians
- The libertarians believe in all the freedom money can buy.
The libertarians actually hold a very interesting, and self consistent
political philosophy. There is an
libertarian party in the USA, actually they believe in competion
so strongly there seems to be another! Two good general reference pages are maintained at http://libertarian.org/ and at http://www.free-market.com/
either of which might claim be a third Libertarian party. Also see
the Judean People's Front, the
People's Front of Judea, et al.
-
The Men's Movement
- The Men's movement is really a number of smaller movements
which each involve men. Some are the political compliment to
feminism, some are actually part of feminism, some are compleatly
unrelated, and a few are outright hostile to feminism. The largets
groups are probably the Father's Rights groups. The most important
(in my opinion) are the Masculist (political men's advocates) groups
like The National Coalition of Free
Men.
-
Esperanto
- Esperanto is the World Auxilary Language with about 2,000,000
speakers around the world. Help resist the artificial isolation our
histories, cultures, and governemnts impose on us through the barrier
of language. You can also visit the ELNA (Esperanto
Leauge for North America) home page.
-
The Country Oceania
- Oceania is the name of the new country that the Atlantis
Project seeks to create. Their goals seem very compatable with those
of Extropians, Cypherpunks, Cryonicists, and other freedom loving
people.
-
The First Milennial Foundation
- This group of folks plans (in detail) to colonize the galaxy.
But will begin with a space colony on the ocean. In this, and that
the colony will be a new country, they share goals with Oceania. But
their politics are a bit different.
-
Drumming
- I am very much enjoying learning to play hand drums, and
developing my ability to hear complex rhythmic relationships. If you
are interested, you could read the Djembe List mailing
list, which actually discusses drums other than the Djembe. You might
also check out the Djembe List FAQ for
some answers to frequently asked questions. Also check out what
Jorge has to say about drums. I am also currently enjoying making
drums. Check out what others have to say about making drums;
-
PGP
- There is now a PGP Keyserver
running on martigny.ai.mit.edu. And it looks like MIT will shortly
release a fully 'legal' PGP 2.5 based on RSAREF.
-
Jay Prime Positive
- I am mentioned in the folowing web pages: March 26 1995
UK Observer Cover Story, If
Uploads Come First, and a Transhuman Term dictionary.
