FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Year 2000 ComplianceCurrent ObjectMaker versions are compliantObjectMaker became Year 2000 compliant, in the kernel C code, with version 4.4. Additional Year 2000 compliance, in extension language programs for repository management was provided with the introduction of version 5. Many legacy users of ObjectMaker continue to use version 2.1 and version 3.4 of ObjectMaker. These versions are not compliant. In some cases users have written "wrapper" software to encapsulate ObjectMaker within larger systems of programs, by interfaces using extension language rules, .bde diagram files, or .tbl semantics repository files. In these cases, if the file must use two digit year codes in order to operate, ObjectMaker since version 5 can be requested to provide two digit year code compatibility. These are only for convenience in interfacing to old user-provided software which has not been upgraded to 4 digit year codes, in this case any date comparisons by ObjectMaker rules will be incorrect when 2000 is reached.
