QUOTE OF THE MONTH

If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measurer or far away.

Henry David Thoreau

RECIPES FOR DUTCH OVEN

For Over the Hill Patrol ONLY!!!

Camp Coffee

In a pinch your Dutch Oven can be used for making coffee. Break 1 egg, crushing shell, mix with 1/2 cup coffee and 1/2 cup water, adding to pot with 4 cups boiling water and stir. Bring to a boil Let stand for 5 minutes, then add 1/2 cup cold water.

Of course, if you want to make coffee this way in a regular pot, it’s okay, too.

Your Scribe,
Bryan M.

THE SCOUT LAW

The Scout Law is the foundation upon which the entire Scouting movement is built. The points of the law are a guide by which every Scout tries to live.

The Scout Law is a statement of facts.

A Scout is COURTEOUS. A Scout is polite to everyone regardless of age or position. He knows that good manners make it easier for people to get along together.

EDITOR’S NOTE

For a year now we have been scraping and digging up all kinds of information to pass on to you. We are not doing this just for fun. This information is researched and double-checked so it can be changed at the last possible minute. What I am saying is that things that have been scheduled may be changed due to any number of reasons, so you must keep in touch with your patrol leader, or senior patrol leader. We do need more input from the boys in this Troop.

I hope everyone had a good time at summer camp. And I hope that everyone has had a good summer. Chris & Co. have put together another busy schedule for the coming year. I hope you are all up for it!

Yours in Scouting,

David Ballew, ASM
