SCOUTMASTER’S CORNER I hope all of you and your computers survived Y2K again. I was told that Feb. 29, 2000 is the official end of the Y2K threat to our computers and what not. First and most important, our Troop has a new member, MARK A, from Pack 333. I want every Scout to make a point to welcome Mark to our Troop. Also a big welcome to Mark’s parents, Scott and Lupe – to the family of Troop 464. February has been a very busy month. Many thanks to Joyce Nussbaum, our resident Physical Therapist who conducted training for the Physical Fitness Merit Badge. THANK YOU, JOYCE! Also, many thanks to ASM, Corky Straus; who guided our Troop through the requirements of the Crime Prevention Merit Badge. Our Troop went skiing in Feb. at Snow Summit, thank you, John Luker for preparing the boys for the activity. Thank you all of the leaders who went and assisted me in this outing (Matt Weintraub, John Teeter, Laz and Rita Deville) and a special thank you to my wife Carolyn, who was the only casualty due to a patch of ice on the front step. She went down on the wrong end. A possible strained wrist was the result. Thank you to Eagle Scouts Chris B and Jeff T who also assisted me on this outing. March is going to be busy, also. A campout at Verdugo Oaks Boy Scout Campgrounds is planned on the weekend of March 31. This is going to be a multi-activity campout. Finally, I would like to mention to all parents the FRIENDS OF SCOUTING program. The district asks for tax deductible contributions for the Boy Scouts. This money is used to maintain the summer camps that we, as a Troop, attend every year. Without our donations, these camps would not exist. Please give, in any amount, to something that is providing your sons an environment to grow and develop their character and leadership.
Yours in Scouting, EAGLE COURT COMING Please save
